Projects Officer - Mombasa



Responsibilities :

  • In partnership with GIZ, FKE is implementing a Dual TVET program that seeks to promote a Dual Vocational Training Approach (DVTA) in the implementation of Youth Employment and Vocational Training Programs which aims at improving youth employability through increased exposure and practical training.Reporting to teh Projects Manager, teh Projects Officer will facilitate achievement of project objectives

Responsibility Specifications :

  • Participate in the development of project implementation work plans to prioritize key activities and targets
  • Ensure that the project activities are implemented efficiently and effectively, adhering to the project timeline and objectives.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with project stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project duration.
  • Facilitate monitoring and evaluation of project activities to assess progress / performance, identify gaps, and measure the results of the project.
  • Track project deviations from the work plan and take early corrective action.
  • Identify, report and mitigate project risks, that may impact the successful implementation of project activities.
  • Stay informed about current industry trends, emerging technologies, and skill requirements to ensure that the vocational training programs remain relevant and up to date.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous project improvement and partnerships.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on the project's progress, achievements, and challenges on a timely manner.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings and events as directed by the organization
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Competency/Skills :

  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Critical Thinking and creative problem-solving skills with an ability to make sound judgment.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant project/program experience, ideally in the field of technical and vocational education, livelihoods, and education.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work smoothly in a multi-cultural environment while building good teamwork spirit
  • Experience monitoring projects, collecting relevant data and writing project reports.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and service-oriented
  • Good relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners
  • Presentable, Confident and a Team Player

Academic Qualification :

  • Bachelors degree in Education, Commmunity Development, Sociology, International Relations, Economics, Political Science or related social science
